Run Your Pockets is an album from ska punk band No-Cash, released on August 12, 2003. It was their first and only full-length album. The song "Wilkes-Booth Style", along with a picture of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln being assassinated on the back cover, led to some concerns over No-Cash being racist, to which Chris Cash responded in a Skratch Interview:
“ |
...Wilkes-Booth Style is like, fuck that, man, you can't sit back and really deal with shit. I'm not saying that I'm about to go and kill the president or anything like that. [But] I mean, I wouldn't mind if somebody else did it, [Laughs] you know? It's kinda like a hidden message. I don't think he did a good thing; I just think he...I wouldn't say triumphant, but he was a fucked-up dude. [Laughs] Some people take it and think we're racist or something. They're like, "Why Lincoln?" But you gotta look past that and see it as a dude killing a president. |
